A series of spectacular fireworks lite up the skies above Cowes last night (Friday) to mark the end of another successful Cowes Week.
Although spectator numbers appeared to be down on previous years, the atmosphere was electric as the crowds enjoyed the traditional 30-minute firework finale, which started with a series of mortars.
Thousands gathered on both sides of the River Medina to grab the best vantage point for both the fireworks and the Red Arrows aerial display that took place earlier in the evening.
Unlisted in the programme of events, a ex-Royal Navy de Havilland Sea Vixen made an unexpected appearance following the mesmerizing RAF Red Arrows display, much to the surprise of those on the ground.
Island Echo’s chief photographer was on scene to capture this set of amazing photographs.
