The Environment Agency have warned residents in the Monktonmead area of Ryde to be aware of the potential threat of flooding this evening.
Due to a mechanical breakdown of one of the pumps at Monktonmead Pumping Station on Ryde Esplanade, it has been necessary for the pump to be removed for emergency repairs.
There is now a higher than normal risk of flooding in the area as the station will be operating with a reduced pumping capacity alongside a yellow alert of rain issued by the Met Office.
