The Duke of Edinburgh has visited Cowes Week over the past two days, meeting a variety of businesses and interacting with those behind the annual sporting regatta.
Yesterday (Sunday) His Royal Highness arrived in Cowes before attending a service at Holy Trinity Church, where he shared a discussion upon arrival with a gentleman who shook the hand of Prince Phillip some 54 years ago, sharing a laugh before moving on.
HRH then made his way to a reception and dinner at the Royal Yacht Squadron to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Cowes Combined Clubs, which was formed in 1964 on his suggestion.
Today the Duke visited Clare Lallow, a Cowes-based boat building company, where he toured the business and shared some banter with staff members. A short distance away, Prince Phillip then visited Beken of Cowes and later the Cowes Yacht Haven to meet the team behind the Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week.
Her Royal Highness Princess Royal will take part in some racing action on the Solent with Island charity UKSA tomorrow (Tuesday).
