Glimpsing the delights of the Isle of Wight from a scenic coastline perspective is about to become easier than ever, when the Downs Breezer returns this week for the Summer season with a new adapted route.
The Southern Vectis open top tour bus runs a circular route through the countryside and for 2014 has been adjusted to allow passengers to explore more of what the Island has to offer.
Starting in Ryde, the picturesque route makes its way through Sandown and Brading, before driving across the tops of The Downs, through to Newchurch, Arreton, Wootton and Fishbourne. New attraction stops include Brading Roman Villa, Yaverland beach, Dinosaur Isle and the Isle of Wight Zoo.
Southern Vectis’ General Manager, Matt Kitchin said:
“In addition to stopping at these fantastic Isle of Wight attractions, we’ve re-routed the Downs Breezer to include the resort of Sandown and the holiday parks at Yaverland.
“We’re continuing to make stops near other much loved destinations – like Quarr Abbey, Arreton Old Village, Robin Hill, the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and Amazon World.”
Running daily between Saturday 24th May and Sunday 31st August, the Downs Breezer departs Ryde bus station every 30 minutes from 09:55 – with the final departure at 17:55. Tickets last 24 hours, giving visitors a chance to really make the most of the service.
Breezer tickets can also be used on other Southern Vectis routes, maximising every opportunity to explore the Island in depth.
