The Isle of Wight Council is working with a Newport based soft play venue to offer disabled children private play sessions.
They are being provided at the JR Zone under the government’s Short Breaks scheme. Short breaks are designed to support children with disabilities to participate in activities.
The private session will be held between 6pm and 8pm every other Monday, starting from 11 June. The price per child is £3 and the first session will include a buffet.
To take part in the sessions at JR Zone, parents will be required to fill in an enrolment form for their children. With the agreement of the parents, information on future short break schemes will be sent to them.
As well as the private play sessions, a bubble disco will also be held every fortnight, starting from Monday 25 June. These are held between 10am and 12pm and cost £4.55 per child. An area will be set aside for the children who take part in the bubble disco and they will also be given a free drink and cake. The disco is for under 5s only.
