floatingbridgeDiversions are in place and passengers are being ushered onto a nearby launch this evening as the Cowes Floating Bridge has become grounded, suspending its regular crossings. 

The Isle of Wight Council have announced that until the vessel is re-floated at high tide at around 21:00, a passenger launch will be in operation.

Motorists are being diverted through Newport, cutting the vital quick link between East and West Cowes.
