UPDATED: Residents are being warned about the possibility of coastal flooding this lunchtime (Thursday).
The Environment Agency are warning that the forecast tide is a reasonably high spring tide and will be higher than the tide experienced yesterday morning.
Water levels will be very high around West and East Cowes and at Newport Quay. Coastal roads and car parks close to the sea front may flood also.
The high tide has resulted in the Cowes Floating Bridge being suspended until further notice.
UPDATE @ 11:51 – Hovertravel have suspended their cross-Solent service due to the adverse conditions.
UPDATE @ 12:50 – The Cowes Floating Bridge has now returned to service following the earlier suspension.
