BEMBRIDGE preschool, Windmills, has this week launched a ‘Help our Preschool Move’ campaign.
The preschool, located in the quiet village of Bembridge is an independent preschool with charitable status and operates on a strict not-for-profit basis. It has provided a much needed service in the village for over 16 years for under 5’s and also after school care for age 2-11.
Windmills is being forced to move as part of the Isle of Wight’s schools reorganisation process and will occupy a new site adjacent to Bembridge Primary School, within the grounds of what was previously the old Forelands Middle School. These new premises are unsuitable for preschool use and need completely refurbishing both internally and externally.
Unfortunately, the organisation’s current income will not sustain such a move and reserves are limited.
H.O.P MOVE! is aiming to raise £20,000 to facilitate the entire move.
Readers are invited to find out more about the vision for the new site at a public meeting, Tuesday 29th May, BYCC, Steyne Park at 8pm.
