The end of an era is nigh as Brickfields Equestrian Centre is set to close its doors for the final time in September, 30 years since it was first opened.
The former tourist attraction, known as Brickfields Horse Country, was transformed into a dedicated equestrian centre back in 2010 following the sad passing of its founder Phil Legg, who died of cancer aged just 57 in August 2009.
The complete closure of the 18-acre site comes as potential buyers of the rural location look to forget its equestrian past, however it is currently unknown what the future holds for the Newnham Road site on the outskirts of Binstead.
12 jobs are set to be lost when the final horse show is hosted at Brickfields on 29th September, just three months away.
Owner and local farrier, Matt Legg, is inviting past and current riders at Brickfields to join him at Trotters Riding School on Ashey Road, Ryde having recently taken over the popular establishment.
