POLICE are appealing for information to identify the person or people responsible for fly tipping in a field at the top of Princelett Shute, Apse Heath, Sandown.
Overnight between Sunday 17th June and Monday 18th June a large amount of household rubbish, including kitchen units, garden pots and wall paper was dumped in the field.
PC Tim Campany said: “Fly tipping is a blot on the Island’s natural beauty. It may be that someone has paid to have this rubbish disposed of and the person accepting payment has conned them.”
Anyone who may have seen the rubbish being dumped, or can help identify the offender should contact the Safer Neighbourhoods team at Yarmouth police station on 101.
Mini-Com users can call the police on 01962 875000. Information can be given anonymously by calling the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111
