Emergency services attended to a man who fell from the roof of a large house in Brading, fracturing his spine.

It is understood the gentleman has landed on a garage after falling from the roof of a first floor extension of Ovington House in The Mall.

One fire appliance from Ryde, an Aerial Ladder Platform from Ryde and the Rescue Tender from Newport all attended, alongside Police and a rapid response paramedic. The assistance of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was later requested and airlifted the man to St Mary’s Hospital.

november2Meanwhile, a brand new Police car was destroyed after firefighters cut the roof of the vehicle off following a four-car collision in Wootton.

One Police officer was extricated from his Hampshire Constabulary vehicle, which was at the head of a multi car pile-up.
