Back in March…
Motorists were introduced to a new roundabout in Lake as part of the brand new pub development opposite Spithead Business Centre.
Months of disruption was felt on Newport Road as a former farm house was converted into the Merrie Garden pub and eating house, alongside a new roundabout and improved paving.
Meanwhile, firefighters from Ryde and Sandown were called to a reported fire at The Old Comical Pub in Sandown. Two pumping appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were sent to the historical building on St John’s Road at around 17:25 to reports of a chimney fire.
Thankfully, the fire was extinguished successfully by firefighters.
