Over 1,100 more people were in work last month compared to March 2013, latest figures have shown.
The number of people claiming the unemployment benefit Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) last month fell to 2,669 claimants – a drop of 344 from February of this year. Year on year, 1,183 more people are in work than 12 months previous.
Despite the encouraging figures, 3.3% of the Island’s working age population is claiming JSA, some 1.5% more than the rest of the South East.
