TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDERS

Date effective: Friday 31st March 2017

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the following Orders: –

• The Isle of Wight Council (Public Footpath N218, Connies Way, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0700 hours on Tuesday 18 April 2017 until 1700 hours on Friday 21 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall allow or cause any pedestrian to proceed along Public Footpath N218, Connies Way from its junction with St Georges Way to its junction with the St Georges Approach / Matalan. The alternative route will be Connies Path / new footway along western side of St Georges Way / St Georges Approach. The closure is required in the interest of health and safety whilst works are undertaken in the St Georges area.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Fitzroy Street, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic and Revocation of One-Way Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Friday 7 April 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 11 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Fitzroy Street from its junction with Melville Street to its junction with Grafton Lane. The alternative route will be Melville Street, Beachfield Road, Broadway, Station Avenue, St Johns Road and Leed Street. The one-way restriction will be temporarily revoked from Leed Street to Grafton Lane.  This order is required for drainage repair works and to allow access to premises and businesses.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Lower Limerstone Lane, Brighstone, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Friday 7 April 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 11 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Lower Limerstone Lane from its junction with Muggleton Lane to its junction with Limerstone Road. The alternative route will be B3399 Limerstone Road and Short Lane. The closure is required for culvert repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Station Avenue, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic and Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for three days between 0930 hours on Monday 10 April 2017 until 1530 hours on Thursday 13 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Station Avenue from its junction with St Johns Road to its junction with Station Avenue Car Park. The diversion will be St Johns Road, St Johns Crescent, Avenue Road, High Street and Albert Road. The one-way restriction will be temporarily revoked from Albert Road to Station Avenue Car Park where signage indicates there is two-way traffic. This order is required for leak investigation works and to allow access to premises and businesses.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Nunwell Street, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Friday 7 April 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 11 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Nunwell Street from its junction with Hill Street to its junction with Station Avenue / Simeon Path. The alternative route will be Melville Street, Broadway, Station Street and Station Road. The closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Blackbridge Road, Freshwater, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day from 0900 hours on Friday 7 April 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 11 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Blackbridge Road from its junction with Afton Road to its junction with Bay Road. The alternative route will be Blackbridge Road, Gate Lane and Afton Road. The closure is required for bridge investigation works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Queens Road, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic and Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between 0900 hours on Friday 7 April 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 11 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Queens Road from its junction with Osborne Road to its junction with Chine Avenue. There is no diversion. The one-way restriction will be temporarily revoked on Queens Road from its junction with Osborne Road to its junction with Chine Avenue where signage indicates there is two-way traffic. This order is required for carriageway repair works and to allow access to premises and businesses.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Kern Lane, Newchurch, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for three days from 0900 hours on Monday 10 April 2017 until 1600 hours on Friday 14 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Kern Lane from its junction with Main Road, Alverstone to the end of the public carriageway. There is no alternative route. The closure is required for drainage repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Elm Lane, Calbourne, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day from 0900 hours on Tuesday 11 April 2017 until 1600 hours on Thursday 13 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Elm Lane from its junction with Yarmouth Road to its junction with Quarry Lane. The alternative route is Five Houses Lane, Pound Lane and Yarmouth Road. The closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (High Street, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1930 hours until 2300 hours on Friday 7 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along High Street from its junction with Victoria Road to its junction with Esplanade Road. The alternative route will be Avenue Road, Carter Street, St Johns Road, Station Avenue and Albert Road. The closure is required for ironwork works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (High Street and Albert Road, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1930 hours until 2300 hours on Friday 7 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, the Isle of Wight Council will temporarily revoke the one-way restriction for a) High Street from Victoria Road to Esplanade Road; b) Albert Road from Station Avenue to High Street. The revocation is required to allow access to premises and businesses.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Albert Road, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1930 hours until 2300 hours on Friday 7 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, the Isle of Wight Council will temporarily introduce a one-way restriction for Albert Road from Station Avenue to High Street. The one-way restriction is required to allow access to premises and businesses.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Lower Road, Brading, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 3 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day from 0900 hours until 1600 hours from Monday 10 April 2017 until Wednesday 12 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Lower Road from its junction with Longwood Lane to its junction with Well Lane. The alternative route will be Lower Road, Alverstone Road, Newport Road, Sandown Road, The Fairway and Golf Links Road. The closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Chapel Lane, Arreton, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0930 hours on Tuesday 11 April 2017 until 1600 hours on Friday 14 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Chapel Lane from its junction with Merstone Lane to a point 267 metres west thereof. There is no alternative route. The closure is required for a new utility connection.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Camp Road, Freshwater, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day from 0900 hours until 1600 hours from Monday 10 April 2017 until Wednesday 12 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Camp Road from its junction with Victoria Road to its junction with Cameron Close. The alternative route will be Victoria Road, Bedbury Lane and Queens Road. The closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (High Street, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one evening from 1930 hours until 2300 hours from Monday 10 April 2017 until Wednesday 12 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along High Street from its junction with Mill Street to its junction with Quay Street. The alternative route will be Mill Street, Foxes Road, Hunnycross Way, Riverway, Holyrood Street and Sea Street. The closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Clarence Road, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day from 0745 hours on Saturday 8 April 2017 until 1700 hours on Saturday 8 July 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Clarence Road from its junction with Falcon Road to its junction with Osborne Road. The alternative route will be Osborne Road and Falcon Road. The closure is required whilst crane works are in operation.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 7 April 2017 and Friday 19 May 2017 the following roads will be closed for both day and night for a period of approximately 6-8 weeks to enable the next planned programme of road reconstruction to be completed. 

These works may include carriageway and footway reconstruction, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works.  In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. • The Isle of Wight Council (Oxford Street, Northwood, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017 – will be closed from Wyatts Lane to its junction with Newport Road. The alternative route for traffic will be Wyatts Lane, Pallance Road, Nodes Road and Newport Road.

Notice is hereby given that the following Orders have been made under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:-

• The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1700 hours on Friday 31st March 2017 until 1700 hours on Thursday 13th April 2017 , or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, the Isle of Wight Council will introduce a one way restriction in the following lengths of road a) Medina Avenue, from its junction with Shide Road to its junction with St Georges Approach; b) St Georges Approach, from its junction with Medina Avenue to its junction with St Georges Way; c) St Georges Way, from its junction with St Georges Approach to its junction with Shide Road. The one way system is for road improvements to be constructed in the St Georges area.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary No Waiting at Any Time Parking Restriction) Order No 1 2017 – Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1700 hours on Friday 31st March 2017 from 1700 hours until Thursday 13th April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, the Isle of Wight Council will introduce a temporary ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ parking restrictions in the following length of road; a) Medina Avenue, on both sides, from its junction with Clarence Road to its junction with St Georges Approach; b) Shide Road, on both sides, from its junction with St Georges Way to its junction with Medina Avenue. The restrictions are essential whilst the road improvements in the St Georges area are taking place.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Galley Lane, Brighstone, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Monday 3 April 2017 until 1600 hours on Wednesday 5 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Galley Lane from its junction with Main Road to its junction with Ashley Way. The alternative route will be Main Road and New Road. The closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Ashlake Copse Road, Fishbourne, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Monday 3 April 2017 until 1600 hours on Friday 7 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Ashlake Copse Road from its junction with Fishbourne Lane to its junction with Ranalagh Drive. The alternative route will be Ranalagh Drive and Fishbourne Lane. The closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Bridge Square, Bridge Road, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Friday 31st March 2017 until 1700 hours on Friday 5th May 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Bridge Square, Bridge Road from its junction with Ferry Road to its junction with the Chain Ferry Slipway. There is no alternative route. The road closure is required in connection with the reconstruction of the floating bridge.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Medina Road, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Friday 31st March 2017 until 1700 hours on Friday 5th May 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Medina Road from a point 25 metres south-east of its junction with Bridge Road to its junction with the Chain Ferry Slipway. There is no alternative route. The road closure is required in connection with the reconstruction of the floating bridge.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Watergate Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Friday 31 March 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 4 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Watergate Road from its junction with Whitepit Lane to its junction with Nunnery Lane. The alternative route will be a) Marvel Lane, Sandy Lane, Blackwater Hollow, Blackwater Road and Shide Road; b) Shide Road, Medina Avenue, St Georges Approach, St Georges Way, Blackwater Road, Blackwater Hollow, Sandy Lane and Marvel Lane. The closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Dolcoppice Lane, Godshill, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Friday 31 March 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 4 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Dolcoppice Lane from its junction with Shinnybricks Lane to the end of the public highway. There is no alternative route. The closure is required for ditch clearance works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Rectory Road, Niton, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Friday 31 March 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 4 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Rectory Road from its junction with Town End to its junction with Lacey’s Lane. The alternative route will be Chatfeild Road, Kemming Road, High Street, Whitwell Road, West Street, A3020 Newport Road, Main Road, Niton Road and Newport Road. The closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Little Princelett Road, Newchurch, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Friday 31 March 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 4 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Little Princelett Road from its junction with Princelett Shute to its junction with Ventnor Road. The alternative route will be Princelett Shute and Ventnor Road.  The closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Trinity Road, Ventnor, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Friday 31 March 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 4 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Trinity Road from its junction with St Boniface Road to its junction with Trinity Road (main section). The alternative route will be St Boniface Road and Trinity Road. The closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Firestone Copse Road, Wootton, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Friday 31 March 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 4 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Firestone Copse Road from its junction with Firestone Copse to its junction with Main Road, Havenstreet. The alternative route will be Havenstreet Main Road, Newnham Road, Quarr Hill, Elenors Grove, Kite Hill. The closure is required for pedestrian barrier repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Bars Hill, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Monday 3 April 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 11 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Bars Hill from its junction with The Grove to its junction with Castle Road. The alternative route will be Castle Road, Market Hill, Bath Road and The Parade. The closure is required for Utility connection works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Bars Hill, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Monday 3 April 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 11 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, the one-way restriction will be revoked along Bars Hill from its junction with The Grove to its junction with Bath Road. The closure is required to allow access to premises and businesses whilst the works are undertaken in part of Bars Hill for utility connection works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Ferniclose Road, Seaview, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Monday 3 April 2017 until 1700 hours on Friday 7 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Ferniclose Road from its junction with Gully Road to the end of the public highway. There is no alternative route. The closure is required for Utility connection works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (High Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 3 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Wednesday 5 April 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 11 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, the no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along High Street from its junction with Green Street to its Junction with Hill Street.  The alternative route will be Green Street, West Street and Hill Street. The closure is required for new utility connection works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (High Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 3 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Wednesday 5 April 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 11 April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, the one-way restriction along High Street will be temporarily revoked from its junction with Green Street to its junction with Hill Street. The closure is required to allow access to premises and businesses.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0630 hours and 1800 hours on approximately 5 to 10 days, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along the following roads.

The closures are for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works between Friday 31 March and Friday 12 May 2017. It may be necessary to close this section of road on more than one occasion within this timeframe. • The Isle of Wight Council (Steyne Road, Bembridge, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017 – will be closed from Lane End Road to its junction with Mill Road. The alternative route for traffic will be Mill Road, High Street, Church Road, Sherbourne Street and Foreland Road.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Highwood Lane, Rookley, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2017 – will be closed from Main Road to its junction with New Road, Chillerton. The alternative route for traffic will be Main Road, Niton Road, Appleford Road, Town Lane, Emmett Hill, Kennels Lane, Berry Shute and Main Road, Chillerton.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 1830 hours and 0600 hours on approximately 5 to 10 nights, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along the following roads.

The closures are for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works between Friday 31 March and Friday 12 May 2017. It may be necessary to close this section of road on more than one occasion within this timeframe.  The exact dates of the works will be confirmed on the Island Roads website at www.islandroads.com or ring on 01983 822440:

• The Isle of Wight Council (Clarence Road, Wroxall, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2017 – will be closed from Rew Lane to its junction with Mountfield Road. The alternative route for traffic will be Newport Road, Ocean View Road, Mitchell Avenue, St Boniface Road, Leeson Road, Cowleaze Hill, Church Road, Victoria Avenue, Shanklin Road, B3327 St Johns Road and High Street.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Ocean View Road and Newport Road, Ventnor, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017 – will be closed from Down Lane to its junction with Mitchell Avenue. The alternative route for traffic will be locally signed through Ventnor town and an outer diversion via Shanklin or Whitwell, Godshill and Wroxall.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that on approximately 5 to 10 days and nights, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along the following roads.

The closures are for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works between Friday 31 March and Friday 12 May 2017. It may be necessary to close this section of road on more than one occasion within this timeframe.  Access for residents will be restricted but maintained where possible. • The Isle of Wight Council (Bathingbourne Lane & Lessland Lane, Godshill, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017 – will be closed from Shanklin Road to its junction with Hale Common. The alternative route for traffic will be A3056 Hale Common and Newport Road, Ventnor Road, Canteen Road and A3020 Shanklin Road.
