TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDERS

Date effective: Friday 24th February 2017

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the following Orders: –

• The Isle of Wight Council (Upton Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0900 hours on Friday 3rd March 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 7th March 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Upton Road from its junction with Windmill Close to its junction with Upton Cross. The alternative route will be Carters Road, Ashey Road and Upton Road.  The road closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Rowlands Lane, Havenstreet, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0900 hours on Monday 6th March 2017 until 1600 hours on Wednesday 8th March 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Rowlands Lane from its junction with Stroudwood Lane to its junction with Mersley Downs Road. The alternative route will be Stroud Wood Road, Carters Road, Ashey Road and Mersley Down Road.  The road closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Public Footpath N208, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Cyclists and Pedestrians) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0600 hours on Monday 6th March 2017 until 1800 hours on Thursday 13th April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any cycle or any pedestrian to proceed along Public Footpath N208 (Fairlee Road pedestrian tunnel) The Tunnel will be closed for its entire length. The alternative pedestrian route will be Fairlee Road, Snooks Hill, Coppins Bridge (both pedestrian crossings), Sea Street and The Quay.  The closure is required for structural improvement works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Westhill Lane, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0600 hours on Friday 3rd March 2017 until 1800 hours on Friday 17th March 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Westhill Lane from its junction with Graeme Road to the end of the public highway. There is no alternative route.  The road closure is required for carriageway works.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0630 hours and 1800 hours on approximately 5 to 10 days, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along the following roads.

The closures are for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works between Friday 3rd March and Friday 14 April 2017. It may be necessary to close this section of road on more than one occasion within this timeframe.  The exact dates of the works will be confirmed on the Island Roads website at www.islandroads.com or ring on 01983 822440:

• The Isle of Wight Council (Wilmingham Lane, Freshwater, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017 – will be closed from Thorley Road to its junction with Newport Road. The alternative route for traffic will be B3401 Thorley Street, Station Road, Main Road, Freshwater Road and Newport Road.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Egypt Esplanade and Princes Esplanade, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017 – will be closed from Shore Road to its junction with Egypt Hill. The alternative route for traffic will be Woodvale Road, Baring Road and Egypt Hill.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Cross Street, Oakfield, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017 – will be closed from Harding Road to its junction with Slade Road. The is no alternative route for traffic.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Hoxall Lane, Brighstone, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017 – will be closed from Chilton Lane to its junction with B3399 Brook Road. The alternative route for traffic will be B3399, Hunny Hill and Chilton Lane.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 3rd March 2017 and Friday 14th April 2017 the following roads will be closed for a period of approximately 5 – 10 days and nights to enable the next planned programme of road improvements to be completed. 

These works may include carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works.  In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. . The exact dates of the works will be confirmed on the Island Roads website at www.islandroads.com or ring on 01983 822440.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Parklands Avenue, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017 – will be closed from Park Road to its junction with Crossfield Avenue. The alternative route for traffic will be Park Road, Baring Road and Crossfield Avenue.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 1830 hours and 0600 hours on approximately 5 to 10 nights, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along the following roads.

The closures are for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works between Friday 3rd March and Friday 14 April 2017. It may be necessary to close this section of road on more than one occasion within this timeframe.  The exact dates of the works will be confirmed on the Island Roads website at www.islandroads.com or ring on 01983 822440:

• The Isle of Wight Council (Chatfeild Road, Niton, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017 – will be closed from Rectory Road to its junction with Kemming Road. The alternative route for traffic will be Rectory Road, Newport Road and Kingates Lane.

• The Isle of Wight Council (The Avenue, Totland, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017 – will be closed from Princes Road to its junction with The Broadway. The alternative route for traffic will use Avenue Road, High Street, Colwell Road, Hill Lane, Pixley Hill, Copse Lane, Hooke Hill, School Green Road and Tennyson Road.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Freshwater, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of 6’ 6” Width Restriction) Order No 1 2017 – Copse Lane, Pixley Hill and Hooke Hill for their entire lengths will have the width restriction revoked for the diversion, in connection with the carriageway works located in The Avenue, Totland.

Notice is hereby given that the following Orders have been made under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:-

• The Isle of Wight Council (Eastcliff Promenade, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic and Pedestrians) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours on Monday 27th February 2017 until 1700 hours on Tuesday 25th April 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle or allow any pedestrian to proceed along Eastcliff Promenade from its junction with Palmerston Road to a point 50 metres north thereof. The alternative route will be Palmerston Road, Park Road and Clarendon Road. The closure is required for repair works to the Shanklin Cliff Lift.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Longwood Lane, Lake, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0900 hours and 1600 hours from Friday 24th February 2017 and Tuesday 28th February 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Longwood Lane, Lake, from its junction with Lower Road to its junction with Golf Links Road. The alternative route is Lower Road, Alverstone Road, Newport Road, Sandown Road, The Fairway and Golf Links Road.  The road closure is required for drainage repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Lower Road, Brading, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0900 hours and 1600 hours from Friday 24th February 2017 and Tuesday 28th February 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Lower Road, Brading, from its junction with Longwood lane to its junction with Upper Road.  The alternative route is Lower Road, Alverstone Road, Newport Road, Sandown Road, The Fairway and Golf Links Road.  The road closure is required for drainage repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (West Street, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 2 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 1930 hours and 2300 hours between Friday 24th February 2017 and Tuesday 28th February 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along West Street, from its junction with Carisbrooke Road to its junction with Cross Street.  The alternative route is Carisbrooke Road and Trafalgar Road.  The road closure is required for structure repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (West Street, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 2 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1930 hours and 2300 hours between Friday 24th February 2017 and Tuesday 28th February 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, the Isle of Wight Council will temporarily revoke the One-way restriction in West Street from its junction with Carisbrooke Road to its junction with Cross Street. The revocation is required to allow access to off street parking.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Whiteoak Lane, Porchfield, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0900 hours and 1600 hours between Friday 24th February 2017 and Tuesday 28th February 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Whiteoak Lane, from its junction with Town Lane (eastern junction) to its junction with Town Lane (western junction).  The alternative route is Town Lane.  The road closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Locks Green Road, Porchfield, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0900 hours and 1600 hours between Friday 24th February 2017 and Tuesday 28th February 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Locks Green Road, from its junction with Colemans Lane to its junction with New Road.  The alternative route is Colemans Lane and New Road.  The road closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Wellington Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0900 hours and 1600 hours between Friday 24th February 2017 and Tuesday 28th February 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Wellington Road, from its junction with Broadway Crescent to its junction with Victory Close.  The alternative route is Winston Avenue.  The road closure is required for structure repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Love Lane, Ventnor, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0900 hours and 1600 hours from Friday 24th February 2017 and Tuesday 28th February 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Love Lane, Ventnor, from its junction with Steephill Road for its entire length. There is no alternative route.  The road closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Victoria Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0900 hours and 1600 hours from Friday 24th February 2017 and Tuesday 28th February 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Victoria Road from its junction with Fairlee Road to its junction with Cross Lane. The alternative route will be Halberry Lane, Fairlee Road, Staplers Road and Cross Lane.  The road closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Medina Way, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for two nights between 2000 hours and 0000 hours from Friday 24th February 2017 to Tuesday 28th February 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along a) Medina Way, in its north-west bound direction from its junction with Holyrood Street to St Marys Roundabout. The alternative route will be Holyrood Street, Riverway, Hunnycross Way, Hunny Hill and Parkhurst Road; b) Medina Way, in its south-east bound direction from its junction with St Marys Roundabout to its junction with Riverway slip road.  The alternative route will be Dodnor Lane, Daish Way, Manners View and Riverway.  The road closure is required for carriageway repair works and vegetation maintenance.
