TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDERS

Date effective: Friday 21st July 2017

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the following Orders: –

• The Isle of Wight Council (Surrey Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between 0900 and 1600 hours between Monday 31 July 2017 and Wednesday 02 August 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Surrey Street, between its junctions with St Johns Road and Well Street. The alternative route is St Johns Road, Albert Street, Well Street, Quarry Road and St Johns Road. The closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Brook Path, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrian and Cyclists) Order No 2 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Friday 28 July 2017 until 1800 hours on Thursday 03 August 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any pedestrian to proceed along Brook Path, from its junction with Collingwood Road to its junction with Brook Road. The alternative route is Collingwood Road and Brook Road. The closure is required for footpath repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Carisbrooke Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for two nights between 1930 and 0500 hours from Tuesday 01 August 2017 and Thursday 03 August 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Carisbrooke Road, from its junction with Trafalgar Road to its junction with Filed Place. The alternative route is Trafalgar Road, New Street, Carisbrooke Road and West Street. The closure is required for carriageway repair works.

 

• The Isle of Wight Council (Park Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Monday 31 July 2017 until 1700 hours on Friday 04 August 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Park Road, from its junction with Benett Street to its junction with Daniel Street. The alternative route is Daniel Street, St John Road, Benett Street. The closure is required for new utility connection works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Upper Lane, Brighstone, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0700 hours on Monday 31 July 2017 until 1700 hours on Wednesday 02 August 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Upper Lane, from its junction with Hollis Drive to its junction with North Street. The alternative route is North Street, Main Road, Moortown Lane, Fortunes Way and Upper Lane. The closure is required for new utility connection works.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0630 hours and 1800 hours on approximately 5 to 10 days, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along the following roads.

The closures are for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works between Friday 28 July and Friday 08 September 2017. It may be necessary to close this section of road on more than one occasion within this timeframe.  The exact dates of the works will be confirmed on the Island Roads website at www.islandroads.com or ring on 01983 822440:

• The Isle of Wight Council (Colemans Lane, Porchfield, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 3 2017 – will be closed from Whitehouse Road to Locks Green Road. The alternative route is Whitehouse Road, Bunts Hill and Locks Green Road.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 28 July 2017 and Friday 08 September 2017 the following roads will be closed for both day and night for a period of approximately 6-8 weeks to enable the next planned programme of road reconstruction to be completed. 

These works may include carriageway and footway reconstruction, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works.  In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. • The Isle of Wight Council (Parklands Avenue, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2017 – will be closed from Park Road to Crossfield Avenue. The alternative route is Crossfield Avenue, Baring Road and Park Road.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1430 hours until 1600 hours on Friday 28th July 2017, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along the following lengths of road; Culver Parade, High Street, Pier Street and Esplanade. The closure is required for safety during the Sandown Children’s Carnival. The diversion will be signposted locally.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1600 hours until 2130 hours on Saturday 29th July 2017, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along the following lengths of road; Culver Parade, from its junction with Fort Street to its junction with High Street; b) Esplanade from its junction with Esplanade Road to its junction with Avenue Road slipway. The closure is required for safety during the Sandown Main Carnival. The diversion will be signposted locally.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 3 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1830 hours until 2100 hours on Saturday 29th July 2017, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along the following lengths of road; High Street, Beachfield Road, Royal Crescent, Melville Street, Fitzroy Street, Station Avenue, Albert Road, Victoria Road and Culver Parade. The closure is required for safety during the Sandown illuminated Carnival. The diversion will be signposted locally.

• The Isle of Wight Council (High Street and Esplanade, Seaview, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 3 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1800 hours until 2330 hours on Saturday 29th July 2017, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along the following lengths of road; High Street and Esplanade, from its junction with Circular Road to its junction with Bluett Avenue. The closure is required for safety during the Seaview Party on the Prom Event. The diversion will be signposted locally.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from a) Tuesday 1 August from 1300 until 1500 hours, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along; Palmerstone Road, Cross Street and Regent Street; b) Wednesday 2 August from 1800 until 2200 hours, or when the event has finished, whichever is sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along; Popham Road, Priory Road, Church Road, High Street (Old Village), High Street (Shanklin), Regent Street, Atherley Road, Queens Road and Chine Avenue, Shanklin and c) Saturday 5 August from 2000 until 2330 hours or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along; Popham Road, Priory Road, Church Road, High Street (Old Village), High Street (Shanklin), Regent Street, Atherley Road, Queens Road and Chine Avenue, Shanklin. The closures are required for safety during the Shanklin Children’s Carnival, Shanklin Main Carnival and the Shanklin Illuminated Carnival. The diversion will be signposted locally.

Notice is hereby given that the following Orders have been made under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:-

• The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Newchurch, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of 6ft 6in Width Restriction) Order No 3 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0001 hours from Friday 21 July 2017 until 1900 hours on Friday 1 December 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, the 6ft 6in width restriction will be temporarily revoked along the following lengths of road; a) Mersley Lane, between its junction with Knighton Lane and Lime Kiln Shute; b) Lime Kiln Shute, between its junction with Mersley Lane and its junction with Merlsey Downs Road; c) Newport Shute, between its junction with Mersley Lane and its junction with Mersley Downs Road. The revocation is required to allow access to premises and businesses whilst alternative restrictions are in place for Langbridge Bridge.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Newchurch, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Three tonne Weight Restriction) Order No 3 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0001 hours from Friday 21 July 2017 until 1900 hours on Friday 1 December 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, a temporary 3tonne weight restriction will be introduced on Langbridge Bride for its entire length. The alternative route will be Langbridge, Knighton Lane, Knighton Shute, Mersley Downs Road, Downs Road, Downend Road, A3056 Arreton Street, Hale Common, Winford Road and High Street.  The restriction is required in connection with a weak structure at Langbridge.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Newchurch, Isle of Wight) (Temporary One-Way Restriction) Order No 3 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0001 hours from Friday 21 July 2017 until 1900 hours on Friday 1 December 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, a temporary one-way restriction will be introduced in the following lengths of road: a) Merlsey Lane, between its junctions with Knighton Lane and Lime Kiln Shute; b) Lime Kiln Shute, between its junction with Mersley Lane and Mersley Downs Road and c) Newport Shute, between its junction with Mersley Lane and Mersley Downs Road. The restriction is required in connection with a weak structure at Langbridge.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Public Footpath CS10, Northwood, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrian) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Friday 21 July 2017 until 1700 hours on Monday 24 July 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any pedestrian to proceed along Public Footpath CS10, from its junction with Newport Road to its junction with Nodes Road. The alternative route is Nodes Road and Newport Road. The closure is required for utility repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Park Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for two days between the hours of 0900 an 1600 hours from Tuesday 25 July 2017 and Thursday 27 July 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Park Road, from its junction with Belvedere Street to Its junction with Dover Street. The alternative route is Dover Street, Melville Street and George Street. The closure is required for carriageway investigation works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (St Michaels Avenue, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for two days between the hours of 0900 an 1600 hours from Wednesday 26 July 2017 and Friday 28 July 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along St Michaels Avenue, from its junction with Wray Street to Its junction with Bettesworth Road. The alternative route is Bettesworth Road, Ashey Road and Upton Road. The closure is required for carriageway investigation works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Winkle Street, Calbourne, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for two days between the hours of 1930 an 2300 hours from Tuesday 25 July 2017 and Thursday 27 July 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Winkle Street, from its junction with Lync Lane to the end of the public highway. There is no alternative route. The closure is required for carriageway investigation works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Godshill Road, Whitwell, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between the hours of 0900 an 1600 hours from Friday 21 July 2017 and Tuesday 25 August 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Godshill Road, from its junction with Sheepwash Lane to Its junction with Southford Lane. The alternative route is Southford Lane, Newport Road, Niton Road, Main Road, Newport Road, West Street and Whitwell Road. The closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Pump Lane, Calbourne, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between the hours of 0900 an 1600 hours from Friday 21 July 2017 and Tuesday 25 August 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Pump Lane, from its junction with Five Houses Lane to Its junction with Calbourne Lane. The alternative route is Five Houses Lane, Elm Lane and Calbourne Road. The closure is required for carriageway repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Beatrice Avenue, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours on Monday 24 July 2017 until 1700 hours on Friday 25 August 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Beatrice Avenue, from its junction with Whippingham Road to a point 191 metres north-west thereof. The alternative route is Whippingham Road, Saunders Way and Beatrice Avenue. The closure is required for utility replacement works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Avenue Road, Freshwater, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0700 hours on Wednesday 26 July 2017 until 1700 hours on Friday 28 July 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Avenue Road, from its junction with Princes Road to its junction with High Street. The alternative route is Tennyson Road, Princes Road, Silcombe Lane and High Street. The closure is required for utility manhole repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Avenue Road and High Street, Freshwater, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0700 hours on Wednesday 26 July 2017 until 1700 hours on Friday 28 July 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, the one way restriction in Avenue Road will be temporarily revoked from its junction with Princes Road to its junction with High Street and High Street, from its junction with Avenue Road to its junction with Tennyson Road. The revocation is required to allow access to premises and businesses whilst utility manhole repair works are undertaken.

• The Isle of Wight Council (High Street, Freshwater, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Reversal of One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0700 hours on Wednesday 26 July 2017 until 1700 hours on Friday 28 July 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, the one way restriction in High Street will be temporarily reversed from its junction Silcombe Lane to its junction with Avenue Road. The reversal is required to allow access to premises and businesses whilst utility manhole repair works are undertaken.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Clarendon Road, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0700 hours on Monday 24 July 2017 until 1700 hours on Wednesday 26 July 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Clarendon Road, from its junction with North Road to its junction with Regent Street. The alternative route is North Road and Regent Street. The closure is required for utility manhole repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Clarendon Road, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0700 hours on Monday 24 July 2017 until 1700 hours on Wednesday 26 July 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, the one-way restriction will be temporarily revoked along Clarendon Road, from its junction with North Road to its junction with Regent Street. The revocation is required to allow access to premises and businesses whilst utility manhole repair works are undertaken.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Green Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary No Waiting At Any Time Parking Restriction) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1000 hours on Monday 24 July 2017 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 25 July 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, a temporary ‘No Waiting At Any Time Parking Restriction’ will be introduced, from No, 5 to No.11 on the north side along Green Street, No waiting cones will depict the exact length. The restriction is required in connection with the replacement of a telegraph pole.

• The Isle of Wight Council (High Street, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 3 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Tuesday 25 July 2017 until 1700 hours on Wednesday 26 July 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along High Street, from its junction with Basketts Lane to its junction with Tennyson Road. The alternative route is High Street and Tennyson Road. The closure is required to allow the safe use of a crane.

• The Isle of Wight Council (High Street, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 2 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Tuesday 25 July 2017 until 1700 hours on Wednesday 26 July 2017, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, the one-way restriction will temporarily be revoked along High Street, from its junction with Tennyson Road to its junction with Basketts Lane.  The alternative route is Tennyson Road, South Street and High Street.  The revocation is required to allow access to premises and business whilst the use of a crane is in use in High Street.

The alternative route is New Road, Military Road, Church Place, Chale Street, Town Lane, Emmett Hill, Kingstone Road, Presford Shute, Sandy Way and Farriers Way.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that on approximately 5 to 10 days and nights, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along the following roads.

The closures are for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works between Friday 21 July and Friday 01 September 2017. It may be necessary to close this section of road on more than one occasion within this timeframe.  Access for residents will be restricted but maintained where possible. • The Isle of Wight Council (Nelson Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017 – will be closed from Trafalgar Road to Linden Road. The alternative route is Trafalgar Road, Carisbrooke Road, Cedar Hill, Whitepit Lane; b) Linden Road, Whitepit lane, Shide Road, St Georges Way, St Georges Approach, Medina Avenue, St Johns Place and Trafalgar Road.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Melbourne Street, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 2 2017 – the one-way restriction will be temporarily revoked from Trafalgar Road to the bus station entrance to allow access to premises and businesses.

The closure is required for safety during the Newport Carnival. The diversion will be signposted locally.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2017

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1900 hours until 2100 hours on Wednesday 26th July 2017, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along the following lengths of road; Crossfield Avenue, Parklands Avenue, Park Road, Victoria Road, Mill Hill Road, Birmingham Road, Shooters Hill, High Street, Bath Road and The Parade.
