The Isle of Wight NHS Trust’s Executive Director of Nursing and Quality, Alan Sheward, is reported to have left the Trust this week.
Although officials are refusing to comment on individual staff matters, they have confirmed that there has been changes made to the Senior Leadership team here on the Isle of Wight.
It is understood that Sarah Johnson has been named Acting Executive Director of Nursing and Quality following Mr Sheward’s departure yesterday (Thursday).
As part of NHS Improvement’s work on the Island it is said that Frank Sims has been appointed as Interim Deputy Chief Executive. Mr Sims, a former accountant, was previously the Chief Exec at Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust – a position he held for 7 months before being seconded to NHS Improvement.
A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight NHS Trust has told Island Echo:
“We can confirm that there have been changes to the Senior Leadership Team. However we do not intend to make any further comment on matters affecting individual members of staff.
“With the support of NHS Improvement we have a number of people working with us for a short time and who bring experience and expertise in a number of areas within leadership, mental health and nursing”.
The Chair of the Trust, Eve Richardson OBE, will be leaving at the end of September.
