UPDATED: Police, WightSAR and the National Police Air Service helicopter are all currently involved in an ongoing search for a missing person in Wroxall.

At 17:30 the Island’s volunteer search and rescue team, WightSAR, were called out to help in the search for the missing individual. Police are yet to release any details of who they are looking for.

As part of the large scale search, officers from Hampshire Constabulary have forced entry into a Mini Cooper on West Street in the village. It is said the car has been parked on the street for a couple of days.

The National Police Air Service helicopter from Bournemouth is circling in the skies overhead.

UPDATE @ 19:10 – It has been confirmed that the missing person has been found by ground units.

The search has now concluded.
