38-year-old Oliver Lale of Fort Mews in Sandown has been sentenced to 17 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, after sexually assaulting a woman and chasing her back to her flat.

Lale was sentenced at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on Friday after previously admitting sexual assault of a female over the age of 16.

On 13th January this year Lale is said to have followed the victim whilst making lewd comments. He then tried to touch her breast before chasing the young woman into her flat.

The 38-year-old told the court earlier this year that he was heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident following a night out with friends.

Apologising for his behaviour wasn’t enough for Lale to escape a suspended sentence. He has also been ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for 7 years and pay Ā£500 compensation.
