Each November, the Royal Hotel hosts a glittering gala dinner for the Isle of Wight Youth Trust, to raise funds for this valuable local charity.
On Saturday (25th November), the ninth annual Youth Trust Gala Dinner will be held at the opulent Royal Hotel in Ventnor. This fantastic event has raised over £300,000 for the Youth Trust since its inception in 2009. This year it is hoped that the record of raising £60,000 in 1 night can be smashed.
Last year alone, almost 900 children and young people accessed this invaluable service but there’s more work to be done.
The Youth Trust has been supporting the wellbeing and mental health of Island children and young people for over 32 years, offering a range of services including professional one-to-one counselling, and substance misuse counselling.
Isle of Wight Youth Trust director, Mairead Healy says:
“We are hugely thankful to The Royal, and all our supporters who contribute to make the evening such a great success. The funds raised through this event have touched the lives of thousands of children and young people, ensuring they have the support they need when they are at their most vulnerable”.
The Trust is generously supported, not only by the 150 people who buy tickets to the 4-course gala dinner (preceded by a champagne and canapé reception), but also by the many sponsors who offer prizes for the evening’s auction. A few fabulous offerings this year, that really put the fun into fundraising, include a private cocktail party plus 5-course meal in your own home from street food restaurant Karma; a garden consultation from Living Larder (who are also donating all the vegetables for the gala dinner); a Christmas lunch party at The Garlic Farm in Mersley; use of Land Rover BAR’s event space ‘The Flight Deck’ and Bestival VIP tickets and 3 Family Camp Bestival tickets.
Bestival’s Rob Da Bank comments:
“The gala dinner at The Royal is such a treat…an incredible charity having loads of money raised for it, in the luxurious environs of The Royal”.
At The Royal, preparations are well underway to make the night a fantastically memorable success, and that starts with getting the menu right! The chefs have been busy in the kitchens trying
out different dishes, and making sure any vegetarian diners have as much of a feast to look forward to as everyone else.
It all promises to be another superlative evening, and the Royal Hotel look forward to raising vital funds for the Youth Trust, with the help of magnanimous guests and sponsors.
