As reported earlier today, Police have joined HM Coastguard and WightSAR in a continued search of Culver Down. Joanna’s car – a black Audi – was found there yesterday morning prompting a major 6 hour search of the area.
A new photograph of Joanna has been issued as part of today’s renewed appeal as Police work to identify anyone who may have seen her. Officers believe Joanna bought cigarettes and a lighter at 07:20 at the Premier Store on Marlborough Road, Ryde.
Police are keen to hear from anyone, such as dog walkers, who may have seen Joanna in the area of Culver Down between 07:00 and 10:00 yesterday.
Joanna’s family are growing increasingly concerned, as they have not heard from her since yesterday morning.
She is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall, slim build with long blonde hair and brown eyes. She may be wearing a bright pink top and black leggings.
Detective Chief Inspector Nick Heelan said:
“I’d like to thank our colleagues from the Coastguard, Isle of Wight Search and Rescue (WightSAR), and our specialist teams including the marine unit, who have helped us to continue our searches at Culver Down today in wet and windy conditions.
“We will continue to extend our searches over the coming days if Joanna is not found.
“We remain concerned for her welfare and are providing support to her family at this time.
“If you saw Joanna yesterday morning in the Culver Down, Sandown, or Bembridge areas we need to hear from you as soon as possible. Please call us on 101 if you have any information which could help our enquiries”.
If you have any information relating to this case, call Police on 101 quoting reference ‘44180058184’.
