76

POLICE are appealing for a possible witness to come forward after an allegation of assault in Freshwater on the Isle of Wight.

Enquiries are continuing into reports of a dispute between a man and a woman outside the Gouldings residential home in St. Andrew’s Way between 3pm and 3.20pm on Tuesday 17th April.

It’s alleged the dispute continued with an assault taking place inside a dark blue Isuzu Rodeo Denver Max Plus 4 x 4 vehicle, which was then driven around the local community.

A woman was seen walking a dog in the area around the same time. Police believe she was a witness to this dispute and assault.

A 24-year-old woman from Newport, Isle of Wight was arrested on 18th April on suspicion of assault and bailed until 11th May pending further enquiries.

Officers are appealing to this woman or any other witnesses who saw the 4 x 4 vehicle to contact police by phoning 101. Mini-Com users can call 01962 875000. Information can be given anonymously by phoning the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
