UPDATED: Concerns are growing for a missing 76-year-old woman who was last seen by her family on Monday.
Family members of Molly Kenyon raised the alarm last night (Wednesday), prompting a search to be launched by Hampshire Constabulary shortly after midnight this morning (Thursday) to locate Mrs Kenyon, who was last sighted in Freshwater.
Molly is understood to be wearing an ankle length royal blue quilted jacket and has been described as someone who walks ‘with a purpose’.
UPDATE @ 09:45– Volunteer search teams from WightSAR were deployed to assist Police in the search both in Freshwater and Freshwater Bay, alongside Coastguard Rescue Teams from Ventnor, Newport and The Needles; however the search teams were stood down at around 05:00 this morning.
Hampshire Constabulary have removed the appeal from their Facebook page, indicating the search has been concluded.
UPDATE @ 10:08 – Police have confirmed that a body was located during the early hours of this morning in Freshwater Bay during the search for missing Molly Kenyon.
Formal identification of the body and a post-mortem examination are yet to take place, however the body is believed to be that of Mrs Kenyon, 76 and relatives have been informed of the discovery.
