As first reported by Island Echo, Armed Police officers were called to the Burlington Hotel on Bellevue Road on the evening of 22nd February. It is there that Timothy Clark, also of Bellevue Road, was arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.
Clark was charged with affray, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of a shotgun without a certificate and appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on 24th February. He pleaded guilty to possession of a shotgun without a certificate, however did not enter a plea for the other 2 charges.
Appearing in front of the Isle of Wight Crown Court this morning (Monday), Clark was remanded in custody until May when he will reappear before the same court for sentencing.
