MOTORBIKE STOLEN AND TORCHED IN RYDE

A motorcyclist’s pride and joy has been left as nothing more than a burnt out shell after being stolen and then torched in Ryde overnight.

The blue Suzuki SV650 was taken from Ryde High Street at sometime before 23:30 last night (Wednesday) before being ridden to Dame Anthony’s Common in Binstead and set alight.

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the burning motorcycle at around 00:15 when local residents heard 2 explosions. Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the blaze.

Police have recovered the remains of the Suzuki and are now trawling through CCTV in a bid to identify those responsible.
