Matthews Southern Comfort are heading to Quay Arts on Wednesday 6th December for a great evening of live music.

Never let it be said that Iain Matthews is one to dwell on past successes; the original Matthews Southern Comfort wasn’t around long enough to have any fanatical following – despite much very fine music and the worldwide hit ‘Woodstock’.

MSC has now been reborn simply because Matthews feels he didn’t quite get it right the first time. Originally a vehicle for his musical concepts, 40 years on, the sounds and songs just keep on coming.

The new MSC, a quartet, features an all Dutch lineup with renowned guitarist, songwriter, producer, BJ Baartmans; Keyboardist Bart de Win and the relatively unknown Amsterdam singer songwriter Eric Devries. The musicianship and commitment are second to none and the sumptuous, soaring vocal harmonies instantly bring to mind the 60’s version of the band.

This spectacular band, represents both the past and the present, as Matthews cleverly reinvents some of the classic MSC songs, to accompany the new originals.

Also, before a great evening of live music, Quay Arts’ head chef will be serving up the new evening menu with a festive twist! Evening Menu will be available from 17:30.

To book a table call 01983 822490. To view the Quay Arts Evening Menu visit quayarts.org.
