HARMER MEETS GOLF LEGEND FOLLOWING HAMPSHIRE WIN

321

Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club’s Ryan Harmer has had the opportunity to meet the sport’s Justin Rose following Hampshire’s second English County Championship title win at Trevose earlier this month.

Justin has been on a winning European Ryder Cup team and won the US Open, but that hasn’t stopped him appreciating what it took for Hampshire to claim the County Championship. The world class player was in the Hampshire team that claimed its first ever English crown at Woodhall Spa – the home of England Golf – back in 1996 at the age of just 16.

Harmer is the first Isle of Wight player to appear at the English County Finals for Hampshire and recently joined his 6 team mates in meeting Rose. The get together came just 24 hours after Justin had been presented an MBE by The Duke of Cambridge.

The winning Hampshire side were able to see Justin’s MBE and Olympic Gold Medal.
