A fallen tree is currently blocking the railway line between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin, resulting in the suspension of Island Line train services tonight (Tuesday).

Engineering staff are currently working to remove the debris from the line near Brading, but it is anticipated that services will remain suspended until the end of the day, resuming as normal tomorrow.

Island Echo understands that passengers are currently onboard and are stranded until the tree has been cleared.

Staff are currently in the process of arranging ticket acceptance on Southern Vectis Route 2 and 3 buses – see a member of staff for details.

Island Line apologise for any disruption caused to your journey this evening.
