COWES MAN CHARGED WITH SHANKLIN AGGRAVATED BURGLARY

25-year-old Jak Wilkie of Bridge Road in Cowes has been charged as part of an investigation into an aggravated burglary in Shanklin earlier this week.

As first reported by Island Echo, Police were called to an address on Atherley Road shortly after 20:50 on Wednesday (4th October).

2 men carrying a hammer and a baton assaulted a 27-year-old man and stole cash. The victim was later treated for injuries to his head and was checked over at hospital, but has since been discharged.

Jak Wilkie has been charged with 1 count of aggravated burglary and 2 counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He has been remanded in custody and will appear at court on 6th November 2017.

Police are still carrying out investigations to locate all those believedĀ to have been involved in Wednesday’s incident.
