VAN FIRE TACKLED IN SHANKLIN

Firefighters have extinguished a van fire in Shanklin this lunchtime (Monday). 1 appliance from Shanklin was mobilised to Victoria Avenue in the town at around 11:45 following reports of a small blue van alight. The retained crew swiftly brought the flames under control, but couldn’t prevent significant damage to the vehicle. The road remained opened throughout with assistance from Police.
