Police and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are currently attending the incident on Main Road, near to the steam railway.
It remains unclear what caused the vehicle to crash as it travelled from Newport towards Ryde. No other vehicles have been involved.
Island Echo understands the Ford Fiesta collided with 2 sign poles at around 08:20 before flipping over a railing and into the stream, which thankfully is slow-flowing at the moment despite the time of year.
2 members of the public have helped pull the single female occupant from the wreckage. She has escaped any serious injury and is currently being treated by paramedics.
The road remains open in both directions but may be blocked temporarily for vehicle recovery.
UPDATE @ 09:40 – Emergency services have now left the incident.
The car remains in-situ for recovery at a later date.
UPDATE – The car has been successfully recovered by Bartletts Service Station.
